Cotina Lane Pixley

Cotina Lane Pixley is a Professor in the Crime, Justice, and Security Studies (CJSS) program at the University of the District of Columbia. Ms. Pixley has background in research, training and evaluation, service, and outreach to government agencies, community-based organizations, faith based organizations, and other non-profit entities. Her research interests lie in the areas of risk communication and community resilience. Research topics include: development and utilization of effective risk communications and the impact of underserved populations on recovery and resilience in disasters. Ms. Pixley serves as the early career faculty support for the DHS Scientific Leadership Award Scholarship to the University of the District of Columbia. She is completing doctoral studies in Political Science at Howard University.
