Frances Hayes Brown, M.S

Frances Hayes Brown, M.S. (Team Leader) is a full-time instructor in the Sociology and Criminal Justice Department of Virginia State University. Prior to becoming an instructor with VSU, she was the Director of the 11th District Court Service Unit, Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice, from 1998 to her retirement in 2010. Prior to becoming CSU, Director, Frances was a Supervisor of Probation and Parole for the 6th District Court Service Unit and Family Counselor and Juvenile Probation and Parole Counselor with the 11th District CSU. Frances has a Master’s of Science Degree, in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati (2007). She completed her Bachelor of Science Degree, at Virginia State University in Psychology (1977) as well as 24 credit hours in graduate studies in Psychology. Frances is a Certified Correctional Executive, Commission on Correction Certification and the American Correctional Association; Certified Court Administrator, by the National Juvenile Court Services Association, and completed, the U.S. Department of Justice National Institute of Corrections, OJJDP Correctional Leadership Development Program.
