Blog #2

I had an amazing week at the National Science Foundation (NSF). The orientation was a bit slow because of all the repetitive first day paperwork and presentations, but I did meet some awesome interns from Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). During lunch, I was introduced to my mentors and discussed the project I will be working on this summer. Initially I believed I had an easy project. After talking to all three of my mentors throughout the week, I realized that I will be challenged this summer. Luckily, I will be working with some very knowledgeable and friendly mentors.

This week I have been provided many opportunities to attend conferences, meetings, lectures and meet other professional throughout the building. Through all these opportunities, I was able to learn more about Geosciences and how the department assist in science education from K – Postdoc. - Miranda
